Position: Teaching Faculty – Environmental Policy
The Fulbright School
Established in 1994, the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program (FETP/Fulbright School) is a joint initiative of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Vietnam Program (USA) and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). FETP is a leading center for economics and public policy teaching and research. It offers a Masters in Public Policy (MPP), the first graduate level program in public policy in Vietnam. A dedicated teaching faculty provides students a world-class public policy education that combines theoretical rigor with specific attention to Vietnam’s unique conditions. As Vietnam changes, the MPP continues to introduce new course offerings to meet emerging policy challenges. Students come to FETP from a wide range of professional backgrounds and hold Bachelor degrees from a variety of disciplines.
The Lower Mekong Public Policy Initiative (LMPPI)
LMPPI is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). It is housed at the Fulbright School. The LMPPI’s primary goal is to facilitate knowledge generation, learning, and dialogue on public policies which promote economic development that is ecologically sustainable and improves livelihoods in the five countries of the Lower Mekong (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar/Burma). LMPPI partners with international/national research institutes, private sector actors, and research-centered non-government organizations in the Mekong region, to create research and policy outcomes for potential impacts on water-food-energy nexus challenges. A key LMPPI goal is to translate its research into curriculum and learning opportunities for the Fulbright School.
