Mười bảy phần trăm ứng viên (Mentees) tham gia Chương trình Cố vấn Nghề nghiệp (Career Mentoring- CAME) thuộc Mạng lưới Chuyên gia Việt tại Mỹ (VNPN) đã xin việc thành công trong vòng 6 tháng.

Tính đến năm 2018, có hơn 30.000 du học sinh Việt đang theo học tại Mỹ nhưng chỉ rất ít trong số này xin việc thành công theo diện visa H-1B không định cư. Ngay cả những du học sinh Việt Nam xuất sắc, tốt nghiệp loại ưu ở các trường Đại học danh tiếng cũng gặp không ít khó khăn khi tìm được đúng việc, làm đúng chuyên môn sau khi ra trường.

Chính vì vậy, CAME ra đời nhằm kết nối những chuyên gia người Việt (Mentors) có kinh nghiệm, đang làm việc ở Mỹ, với phần lớn là các bạn du học sinh (Mentees), làm mạnh hồ sơ xin việc và thương thảo những quyền lợi cạnh tranh nhất sau khi xin được việc tại Mỹ. Mùa đầu tiên đã giúp kết nối hơn 53 ứng viên với hơn 30 chuyên gia trong nhiều lĩnh vực khác nhau như Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance Marketing, …

“Hôm nay cực kỳ vui mừng thông báo với cộng đồng VNPN là mình đã có job offer, trở thành Embedded System Engineer tại một startup ở Boston. “Mới gần đây mình được nhận vào làm intern cho công ty Kingland System – 1 cty về phần mềm và phân tích dữ liệu ở Ames, Iowa. Bản thân mình là người đã apply nhiều nơi và cũng đã thất bại khá nhiều lần. Rất may mắn là trong một đợt event tất niên của hội sinh viên Việt Nam ở ISU, mình đuợc làm quen và nói chuyện với chị Ngọc và tình cờ biết được công ty mình đang apply intern là công ty chị đang làm việc…Chị Ngọc sau đó có setup cho mình 1 buổi mock interview và sửa resume giúp mình… Xong phần resume, đến phần mock interview, mình có tầm 30′ mock interview + feedback với chị Ngọc.
Đến ngày interview mặc dù mình đã chuẩn bị khá kĩ nhưng cũng không tránh khỏi hồi hộp. Recruiter mặt khá lạnh làm mình càng lo lắng thêm. Sau interview mình tự đánh giá là không đuợc tốt cho lắm vì khi run thì chữ nghĩa trong đầu mình nó bay đi đâu hết nên nhiều câu mình trả lời linh tinh, không theo ý gì cả. Và sau đó thì đương nhiên là mình… trượt.
Nhưng mỗi lần thất bại mình lại học thêm được nhiều kinh nghiệm và quyết tâm hơn cho những lần sau. Trong quá trình cố vấn, chuyên gia sẽ giúp ứng viên rèn luyện kỹ năng chuyên môn, hiệu đính resume, phỏng vấn thử, và tạo dựng mối quan hệ để ứng viên có nhiều cơ hội xin việc thành công tại Mỹ.

Điểm nổi bật của chương trình CAME là đội ngũ mentors tài năng và tâm huyết, đang hoạt động ở nhiều lĩnh vực khác nhau tại Mỹ. Không ít mentors có tiếng nói và sức ảnh hưởng lớn đến quá trình tuyển dụng nhân sự công ty họ đang công tác.

The Vietnam Professionals Network (VNPN) Career Mentoring Program 2019 is launching!

Seventeen-percent of applicants graduating from VNPN Career Mentoring Program 2018 successfully applied for a full-time job in the US after 6 months of implementation. This was a big milestone for the Career Mentoring Program (CAME) – powered by the Vietnam Professionals Network (VNPN).

In  2018, there were more than 30,000 Vietnamese students studying in the United States, but a few of them successfully applied for non-resident H-1B visas. Even outstanding Vietnamese students who have graduated from prestigious universities also encountered many difficulties when finding high-skilled jobs after graduation.

CAME, therefore, aims to connect experienced mentors, working in the US, with Vietnamese students (mentees) to help them build up their profiles and negotiate the most competitive benefits after obtaining high- skilled jobs in the United States.

In 2018, the program has connected more than 30 mentors with 53 mentees from various fields such as Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, and Marketing and various other fields.

After being selected, mentees will receive advice on their job skills, resumes, mock- interviews, job search and networking strategies.

The highlight of the CAME program is a team of talented and enthusiastic mentors, active in many different areas in the United States. Many mentors have a strong voice and influence over the recruitment process within their company.
