Open position: Associate in Training
Position: Translator
Reports to: Consultant team
Job Summary:
The Translator works closely with international consultant team and supporting team to deliver quality result to client. He/she will support the consultant team in interpretation and translation. He/ she may be asked to lead and organize the activities of other translators working with BCG to ensure consistent final results. The role of translator requires an individual with a professional, intelligent and responsive approach. Successful candidate must be capable of working in a professionally demanding environment. He/she has a positive attitude, extensive attention to detail and a thirst for learning. He/she also displays professional sensitivity, high levels of confidentiality and flexibility, as well as maturity in day-to-day dealings with external and internal stakeholders. Ideally, he/she has demonstrated professional experience in a similar capacity.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:
- Translate project materials as assigned by translation coordinator
- Support consultant team in translation and interpretation in business meetings, interviews, day-to-day interaction with client team (both at working level and senior level) when needed
- Work with other translators and team members in ensuring quality of translated materials

Requirement:
Prerequisite:
- University degree a must
- Strong written and spoken command of Vietnamese and English language a must
- Willing to travel for work
- Demonstrated translation and interpretation capability (both simultaneous and consecutive translation)
Technical skills and experience:
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Some background in mining, logistics or tourism a plus but not required
- Experience with public sector a plus but not required
Desirable:
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven, service oriented environment
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills – able to work effectively with international consulting team
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to initiate and compose own correspondence
- Team player yet able to work independently, with demonstrated ability to be flexible, responsive and to take initiative
- Convey a strong positive personal and professional image with excellent standards of professional behaviour and ethics
- Highly motivated, energetic and resourceful
- Strong customer service orientation – responds to customers’ needs with a sense of urgency, and with a “How can I help” mindset.
- Able to work beyond normal office hours (sometimes weekends) during peak periods
